I signed up for RoommateClick.com after I got of bunch of mail from people offering me rooms and couldn't it read them because the inbox is locked until you pay for the service. So I paid the $7.

What was once 3-4 emails per day from them telling me I had new requests immediately went to 0. I got about two messages the entire two weeks I was subscribed. Oddly enough, the day after I'm not paying I have 4 new messages.

Talk about a bait and switch!

No I think they're real. I had about 3-4 when I first paid and they were all real messages. I think what they do is keep paid subscribers in the lowest part of the listings and if you just signed up or aren't paying they promote your profile more.

edit: damn should've bet the $7!!
