buy your roommate a nice computer and get into his password on his compter that will serve him a lesson.
I know my advice is not very helpful but I tried. 🙂

If your roomie is pulling that kind of shite then you need to give him a nice talk ... and if he's still a jerk then you need to beat his a** down.

It's a matter of respect.

If he doesn't respect your comp then you need to teach him respect.

Don't let him walk all over you.

To go a few steps farther, make the screensaver automatically lock the computer and go into your security policies and change the settings so the last username isn't displayed in the login screen after a restart. That way he won't even know what the new admin account username you've set is unless you leave it locked with that username.

I think I'll beat this dead horse some more.

1st: BIOS password = GOOD. Especially with a nosey roommate.
2nd: Strong Admin password = GOOD.
3rd: The Guest account in XP has very limited access to system settings. I just setup a new machine for my unsavvy coworkers. They only know enough about Windows to be dangerous. I went into the guest account to see what I could do. Not much is accessible.
4th: The command gpedit.msc has a lot of security settings that may help too.
Just remember, thats one of those system managers that can really mess up a computer if you make a bad decision. Better leave it alone unless you feel badass.
