What the fuck is with today’s Republicans and their “love” for Russia?

https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2018/0...hrabacher-met-with-accused-spy-in-russia/amp/

Is it the money? Is it the political power the Russians can help them gain?

I admit I’m old school...Russia (Soviet Union) has been a majoe enemy all my life...”Better dead than red,” “kill a commie for your mommy” and all that...and I’ll NEVER trust Russia to do anything that’s not injurious to the USA...especially if it’s beneficial to them in some way...but dammit, cozying up to Russia like today’s Republicans have been doing just seems...traitorous to me.

Russia is no longer a threat to multi-national Capitalism. They transformed themselves from a communist state into a corrupt capitalist oligarchy & they want to do business. It's organized crime at the nation state level. American Capitalists have no compunctions about doing business with anybody.

The only real consolation is that the breakup of the USSR & the expansion of Nato into eastern Europe has left them in a much weaker military position. That didn't stop Putin's military aggression against much weaker former members of the USSR. In that he's been a thug. Military action is out of the question so we're left with sanctions.

Who cares, right? Let's just let bygones be bygones! There's a lot of profit potential in this!

And it'll all trickle down, of course.
