He'll be back.

Ron Paul - denture wearer, condom user.

As much as I dislike the idea of Ron Paul in the white house, I do hope he gets to speak at the convention. He deserves to be heard.

As Douglas MacArthur said, old soldier never die, they just slowly fade away.

It was maybe my earliest childhood experience of this forum, as Paulbots told us Ron Paul was shoe in for POTUS in 2008. Will a heartless Mitt Romney deny Ron Paul a speaking slot and his Harold Stassen moment at the 2012 Republican national convention?

But like some early and bad Japanese movies, why should we remember Godzilla and Gorgon, when the sons, daughters, and even grand children of Godzilla and Gorgon spawned endless movie remakes.

Why should we despair about Ron Paul riding off to the fading sunset, when we have the son of Ron Paul in Rand Paul to give America a second chance at Fibertarian salvation.

Poor Ron Paul, he couldn't carry the GOP nomination in Texas 14th Congressional District which he's held since 1997. He better hope his replacement for the doesn't do a good job or he will never been seen in Congress again.

That can't be absolutely proven.

Santorum was saying he hopes Dr. Paul's supporters "don't get their hands on the platform" and Gingrich was "pondering what to do about Ron Paul and his supporters", and they've both endorsed Romney while Dr. Ron Paul hasn't and won't. That said, I don't think he'll be speaking at the convention, even though he thought (as of the 13th) he may be able to influence the party platform. I'd advise him to stay the hell away from those criminals, as I fear for his safety... I'm worried that he's not going to leave the Tampa alive.

Sad but not surprising that Dr. Paul's message of Freedom was not understood or appreciated by the mentally challenged masses.

You seem to forget I live in the district next to the one Ron Paul currently represents. Local news reported Ron Paul received 12% of the vote in his district. Romney and Santorum got the most vote. Perry almost got as many votes as Paul.

Actually, I remembered that... and the fact that the local news said he only got 12% of the vote doesn't mean that he was only popular with 12% of the people in his district.

http://ronpaulrevolution.us/fraud-confirmed-in-texas-election-judge-says-votes-were-switched/

Also, Ted Cruz (endorsed by Dr. Paul) did a lot better than 12% so that indicates there was fraud against Dr. Paul. Finally, he ran against 2 neocons in the 2010 primary and he won with 70% or so of the vote, so there was fraud in the 2012 primary.

That just goes to show how wacky Paul and his followers are.
After an internet search the only evidence of fraud is someone who says they polled people as they left the polls.

A single Paul supporter who makes a claim of election fraud is completely non credible. The woman who made the claim was a Ron Paul supporter who was a poll watcher. Basically parties appoint someone to watch and make sure that the other party doesn't tamper with the votes. The woman says she asked people who came out who they voted for and wrote the results on her hand. These are the same people who said Paul would win the nomination because the internet polls said he had the support of 70 percent of the voters. The only thing more wacky is Pauls websites acting like its true.

Its just a sad thing what Ron Paul has become. Apparently age has just unleashed his barely contained insanity.

With Paul retiring from Congress its his last hurrah. I wonder if Romney will at least bring him on stage before its over.

You make an interesting point.

On the one hand, if Romney could trust Paul to endorse or at least support him in a straightforward way, it would be a huge coup for him to lock down the votes of Paul fans. On the other hand, Paul is not a person who has anything to lose by bucking the party line at this point.

I'd have to believe Paul sees Romney for what he is: a shameless political whore who will say whatever seems marketable at the moment. Even people who should be wholeheartedly endorsing Romney (up to and including the Republican Speaker of the House) are tepid about him, and I expect Romney will not trust Ron Paul of all people to be more generous on a huge public stage like the RNC.

Well maybe yes and no, Obama has been a disappointment to me, But compared to the frauds of Mitt Romney and the Fibertarian fantasies of Ron Paul, Obama is the lesser of many evils.

Yeah but conservatives have been voting against their best interests for decades.

That makes me wonder if Conservatives are actually mythical creatures stuck on an alien planet where liberty takes a back seat to power. Want to redistribute wealth? Centralize it. Want to stop third world camel jockeys? Centralize it. If you've got a question, government expansion is the only solution.

Makes you wonder who the !@#$ was ever so stupid as to care about little things like the Bill of Rights. When the power to give / take everything has been granted to a bunch of lunatic tyrants in expensive suits. Abuse of power is obviously the highest priority of the American people. Freedom is DEAD by popular vote.

Part of the problem with Ron Paul was his supporters.

True, but Ron Paul himself wasn't short on the bad ideas, paranoia, or crazy. It was just stronger in his supporters. Despite the fact that Paul has polled relatively low in every legitamite poll (meaning ones that were fraudulently skewed by his supporters, ie online), they seem to believe the only way he can't win is massive fraud.

Get over Paulnuts. The country doesn't want him. He would be bad. I don't want a president with the economic policies of Scrooge McDuck.

What is funny is last week when someone posted that what side are you on test most people came up libertarian instead of republican candidates yet they still vote republican. The majority of people who posted their results were Paul or Johnson on top.

He didn't poll low in every legitimate poll and there is no "legitimate" polls these days as legitimate is subjective. There was massive fraud not just against Dr. Paul, but also against Santorum. I live in VA where the gov is one of Romney's biggest supporters and for every 1 Romney bumper sticker, there were at least 5 Dr. Paul bumper stickers and 4 Obama bumper stickers. Dr. Paul also significantly outraised Romney among the troops and the entrance polls for IA caucuses showed Romney winning only the wealthy.

The votes were flipped to favor Romney.

You don't know that the country doesn't want him. Apparently, Wall Street doesn't like the economic policies of Scrooge McDuck either.
