Damn I took '2 games before a suspension' in my pool. What an idiot this guy is, great player(defender), but just an idiot.

yeah, I'd like to see people say that Ginobili embellished that elbow.. the Tru Warrior is a Tru Loser.

Which elbow? I recall there being one that looked like it could have been intentional. To be honest, I think this is entirely because of his rep. I remember john stockton throwing lots of elbows in his career.

Reputation certainly is a big part of it. Refs seem to sometimes give Rasheed Wallace a technical before he even says something.

That was an accident in the first 15 seconds of the game. His was payback and intentional. Who cares about his reputation playing into the decision. You live in the house you build for yourself.

there was an incident 18 seconds in the game where ginobili ran into artest and caused him to need 3 stitches..

ginobili, unlike artest, doesn't throw elbows in order to send a message.

artest proceeded to "send his message" throughout the second half. the refs called him for several fouls because is message was getting out of hand.

Until just now I still felt it was unjust despite artest's reputation. Then I remembered the flagrant 2 that juwon howard had on derek anderson a few years back that largely contributed to the spurs' downfall. You can't have it both ways, so I guess it's better to err on the side of caution.

That said, shaq more or less intentionally elbows people about a quarter of the time he's in the low post. I like shaq, but I am certain that he sometimes uses his bulky size as an excuse to maul his opponents. It works the other way too, I guess. People foul him pretty hard.

the juwon howard incident is a good point. i had forgotten about that.

it would be nice if the NBA made the person who committed the intentional flagrant foul sit out as many games as the player he injured.

DA was out for the rest of the playoffs.
