Forgive me for not being a booze connoisseur, but usually I would just buy Bacardi or the Captain and be happy.

The other day I was at a small privately owned liquor store and grabbed "Ron Abuelo Anejo."

The label told me more than most: Aged in white oak barrels, prepared by fermentation of honeys of cane, 91 rating from Beverage Tasting Inst., Bronze medal at International Rum Festival.... okay..... what the hell..

DAMN! This stuff is good.

It has FLAVOR!!!!

Just thought I'd share.

There are a good number of high qauality rums on the market that a most people are unaware of (and that good rums require no mixer).

Personally I like the Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 year old (on the expensive side but damn worth it) for a spicer rum and the Cruzan Single Barrel Estate for something lighter.
