Romney's winning Michigan

So even the dems trying to sabotage it by voting for Santorum couldn't help him.

I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the whacko Santorum wont even have a chance at the Whitehouse.

I think it's all stupid media push to have more election coverage - santorum never had a real chance, there were only 2 days where his percentage of winning Michigan was higher than Romney's. Romney was solid 70% chance, where as Santorum hovered around 25%.

I swear to god if CNN explains that the upper peninsula and Northern part of the lower peninsula are less populated than the Southern part of the state one more time I'm going to scream.

So tired of all my friends spamming facebook about Ron Paul, I still can't quite determine what party he's for even though he's running under the republican banner. Seems like his stance on things is a mix of republican and democrat. Glad to see he's only getting 12%, now maybe that will shut them up 😀

Liberty, Illuminati, gold, 911 truf.

I wish I could watch MSNBC's coverage, but I can't stop being offended at being reminded of the fact that they're employing Al Sharpton.

CNN now has Romney's lead at 5%. How high does that have to get before we can all stop pretending Santorum ever had a chance or was ever a serious candidate?

Yeah, looks like Mittens is resting easy tonight, which means Barry is too.

I suspect Obama is resting easy either way, but I don't see how he'd rest easier based on the prospect of Romney instead of Santorum. Santorum is batshit insane, Romney is not. Santorum would have gotten crushed in a general election, Romney will lose by a lot less.

Sorta, back before this retarded media mess with unelectable candidates (Bachman/Cain/Newt whatever) that never had a shot at the nomination, reps and dems were pretty close on intrade with Romney being essentially tied.

Romney is an easier opponent because of Romneycare, imo. Barry will beat Romney to death with Romneycare, I think. Among other things.

A Santorum victory in MI might scramble things in the GOP, and then who knows?

Imo, the Dems relish Romney as their opponent, and rightly so.

Respectfully I think this is a completely wrongheaded view, and the polls agree. http://realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html My sense is that once the dust settles, President Obama would win in a landslide over Santorum, whereas a race with Romney is potentially close, depending on what happens with the economy.

The only reason any Democrat would prefer to see Romney win the primary is that one never knows what might conceivably happen - anything is possible - and the idea of a President Santorum is seriously scary.

You basically agreed with me, though. Who said anything about a President Santorum? That was never even a possibility, imo.

ultimately, there are some things that are just out of Obama's control.

there could be a European financial crisis, combat outbreaks in the middle east, some kind of unprecedented natural disaster... and if that happens, I wouldn't want Santorum sitting on the other side of the ballot when 45% of the electorate is going to vote for their team regardless of who the nominee is.

if Katrina happened a year earlier, Bush probably would have lost all 50 states against Kerry.

The only event I could see allowing Santorum to win the presidency is the repeal of the 19th amendment to the constitution.

But in all seriousness, I think I agree with you. Much as I think it would be a laugher for Obama, I just wouldn't want to see Santorum sitting on the 'R' line.

The Yoopers consider everyone South of St. Ignace/ The Mackinac Bridge to be trolls so I'm not sure they agree with CNN's assessment.

With 90% of the Michigan vote reporting it looks like, Romney 41%, Santorum 38%, Paul 12%, and Newt 7% will be the final numbers. On to Super Tuesday Match 6 which will be the next biggie.

I am dreaming of a 2012 deadlocked GOP convention.

But oh well, the GOP may be stuck with Mitt Romney, as the Elephant saw his shadow which means 4 more years of no Republican in the White House. And no more Snowe in Maine come November.

Romney is like having at least two opponents - every position on every issue.
