Romney has said he left Bain in 1999 to lead the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, ending his role in the company. But public Securities and Exchange Commission documents filed later by Bain Capital state he remained the firm’s “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president.”

Also, a Massachusetts financial disclosure form Romney filed in 2003 states that he still owned 100 percent of Bain Capital in 2002. And Romney’s state financial disclosure forms indicate he earned at least $100,000 as a Bain “executive” in 2001 and 2002, separate from investment earnings.

It shouldn't be construed that I think all promises are worthless. Campain promises, on the other hand, should be taken with a grain of salt. These are things that the candidates want to do in an ideal world, but once they get to the show, they quickly realize that it isn't so easy to do whatever they want.

In other words lieing on the campaign trail is fine with you. You need to get one thing straight with campaign promises(lies). They wouldnt be enacted in a perfect world either. They are given to secure votes.

No, it's not fine. Romney running on a platform of 'I will repeal the ACA' is not a lie. He really wants to do it. He probably won't be able to do it.

If I promise to meet you tomorrow, and then I am kidnapped before I get to meet you, am I now a liar? Use your brains people. Think about the logistics and realize there is a difference between what people want to do and what they can do. Or just continue on with your blind generalizations and lump everything into the same category. It's easier for your simple minds to grasp that way.

He made promises he had no intention of keeping - such as allowing people to view bills for awhile before signing them into law. If you have no intention of keeping a promise, it is a lie.

I would say if he honestly attempts to fulfill his promises but Congress prevents it (via a Veto override), then he is not a liar. If he made a promise out of ignorance and later finds out it was a bad promise to make - he should come clean with his error, but it is not a lie. If he does not do something that he has 100% control over after promising to do it, then he lied.

Maybe he had his dates wrong, or he was CEO in name only but was not actually doing anything (but getting paid well anyway). I personally do not remember the year I left each of my jobs I have had.

his name was on the letterhead, but it doesn't sound like he had any active involvement in the company.
