Does anyone have any experience playing this game?

I am playing the Imperial Campaign and trying to unlock other factions to play on the Campaign map.

Do I have to win? Or by other factions does it mean for skirmish custom battles?

Also, I bought the Gold Edition of Rome Total war and cannot install the mods that I want for the game.

Yeah, you have to play it one time through with one of the roman factions.

Not so sure about the mods.

I believe there is also a cheat to unlock all the factions...

I have unlocked Carthage and the Greek cities. If either you have time, can you tell me if there are other factions. I am not sure if I have to conquer 50 provinces to win. It is a time consuming game even on easy.

One of my favorite ancient nations was Macedonia post Alexander. They seemed to be a hotbed of military and political intrigue. (other interesting ones Seleucia, Parthia, Mithradates, Scythia)

I bought my copy from Steam. It seems to be having difficulty with mods that I have already tried to install.

I started to played RTotal in 2005 and I let it go, Now I continued the campaign with 25 provinces but the Rebels are a pain in the butt. I go to www#twcenter.net where they have patches and Mods to unlock the others fractions. I looking to buy the Babarian Invasion pack soon if anyone have it for sale....

Its been years since I messed with it but if I remember correctly you can go into the files and make a change that unlocks every faction. Should be able to google it.

Everything is available for skirmish and custom battles. It's just for the campaigns that they need unlocked. It doesn't even unlock all of the factions. So you might as well just mod whatever file it is if you want to unlock everything.
