Rome Total War Question: Install with DVD drives?

I just read that you may not be able to install this game if all you have is a dvd drive - any confirmation on this?

Anyone know, all I have is a dvd burner and don't won't to waste 40$ if I cant get this to install yet . ..

no that is not true. I have installed it with a dvd burner.
