Well, i decided to play Rome Total war again because i just finished watching Rome the series heh. I want to play Total Realism but i dont know which one is the newest one. any help here? thanks

1.9 Platinum, I believe is the latest version. RTR's webmaster needs to update their site. Supposedly 7.0 was going to come out in Mid 07, but they obviously missed though.

You could try Europa Barbarorum for a spin though, its probably better than RTR.

I think 1.9 requires BI, but read on their site what they require.

Pity about 7.0

But I think EB is better. If only marginally.

I thought they finished RTR 7.0 and was moving onto working on Medieval2 Total Realism? Hmmm... I need to revisit the site. Last RTR I played was 5.4 which was pretty darn good. I been playing M2TW lately.

Medieval Total Realism fell apart, it was made by a different team, and they were trying to do too much. How do I know? I was part of the team. I put in what they wanted. Then left. The modding team fell apart. HOWEVER, there is a really good mod, called Dues Lo Volt, one of the best TW mods out there.

Note: The DLV 5.0 requires kingdoms, because they do some gnarly modding--it's essentially a more competitive in your face at the start kind of game. The units have been remodeled, especially the Byzantines, and it has much more of a gritty and colorful medieval mayhem atmosphere to it.

Rome Total Realism was the best thing to happen to that game. I absolutely REFUSE to play without that mod installed.

Its the same with M2TW. The vanilla game is nothing compared to mods like Lands To Conquer and The Long Road. The Total War modders often are the first to fix many of the bugs that CA overlooks in their games(and they often overlook alot of bugs). Kind of a sad statement for CA developers but a lucky one for the gamers.

Never played any of the TW games with a mod, what's the scoop on them.

Yeah. Entice me with spicy details and I may be motivated to install RTW tonight...

The mods often change historically inaccurate concepts, and bring in new play themes, like the Tirmuative, and change units, both athstetically, and statistically.
