The only one here who is mental is you. I am not bitter a bit about the church because I have nothing to do with it. It's like child rape, I'm not bitter about that either. I am disgusted by those who would do it. Really, it's that simple. The feeling of disgust you have for child abusers has its origin in childhood events where you were called out as being disgusting. You have transferred that self hate you were taught to feel about yourself on to them. You have been converted to the path of external blame to deny your awareness that it is you who you feel is disgusting. You can't repair that self hate so long as you play that game. Your bitterness about what happened to you is deeply buried. This is the hardest thing in the world to see. It isn't necessary to feel disgust for people who do wrong. All that is necessary is to stop them. Heaping disgust on them only makes them more determined to hide their sins and justify their actions. You don't make the world better with your disgust. You make it worse.

Devil's advocate; We shouldn't put sex on a pedestal. As soon as you stop thinking about sex as a disgusting act if it's not between married people, suddenly the idea of your daughter growing up to go into porn or prostitution isn't really that big a deal. I mean, sure, you don't want to watch or anything sick like that, and you want to be damn sure she's not being taken advantage of, especially since our puritan interpretation of sex has led the principal people involved in the sex industry to be the worst-of-the-worst humans around. But as long as she's safe and happy, what's so bad about having a daughter who's a prostitute? There's good money to be had from desperate men wanting to get their rocks off, and frankly, it's a sick mind who treats sex without love as something that's somehow worse than poverty. "You made rent? Great! Oh, you were helping other people have orgasms? Well you should be ashamed. Go flip some burgers so you can have some self-worth you disgusting whore."

Not the person your post was aimed at, but are you really suggesting that a parent shouldn't be concerned if their daughter/son chooses prostitution as a career?
