Rollover effects in Flash?

I don't have a Flash book and have done the Macromedia tutorials on their site, but I haven't come across this yet. It's a image rollver that is fairly common. I know the logic behind the script, and I've come across the onRollOver and onRollOut commands, but when I rollover an image I want to increase the alpha in an image. How would I go about doing something like that?

Do you mean increase the alpha gradually or to a specific alpha once mouse-over'd ?

To do it gradually, you'll need to create a movieClip that increases the alpha and drop that into the OVER keyframe of your button. To have it come up at a specific alpha once mouse-over'd, just create it in the OVER keyframe of your button. Keep in mind though, all symbols are at alpha 100% to begin with. So your UP keyframe of your button should have a lowered alpha to make the effect work.
