We're saying to pay the fine or don't run the stop sign. Not that we stop at every sign, it's not about being holier than thou, it's about being responsible when you fvck up... It's a grand lesson and all.

I can understand about being upset about such a lameo ticket but it's still the law so I wouldn't complain or ask the question you asked.

I usually enjoy telling the fun/stupid stories when I get tickets because if you're going to get one you might as well have a good story to tell.

For example my $861 "Modified Smog Equipment" ticket. Now there's something to talk about.

Do you stop at yield signs?

Then don't yield at stop signs.

As far as whether or not I stop for 3 seconds, I don't really count the seconds. I just brake until my tires stop rolling, then check traffic in case some idiot rolls through his stop sign and posts about it, then procede if traffic is clear. It may very well be 3 seconds.

Let's talk about it.
Let me start.... You modified your car, it no longer is legal, you got a ticket. End of discussion. 😉

Or the guy who got ticketed for the stock spoiler on his Evo "obstructing rear vision". That was classic. 😀

I stop at stop signs, but my recent ticket was because I overshot a stop sign by about 5 feet.

Best thing to do is to plead innocent in court. It may even help to get a lawyer if you really don't want to pay the increased insurance premium. It may pay off in the long run. Other than that, just make sure you stop at stop signs.

No. But when I get caught and ticketed, I'm not going to whine "OMG I broke t3h law and now I have a ticket, and I don't feel like going to traffic school to get it wiped. This is so unfair. Life suXX0rZ."

If you got caught doing a rolling stop and an officer took the time to pull you over for it, 9 times out of 10 it means you COMPLETELY blew it off (rolled through without slowing down at all, or only very slightly). So don't expect a lot of pity here.

Edit: If you did slow down almost to a stop, and the cop who pulled you over was just having a bad morning, you might be able to get it thrown out.

I know i didn't completely "blow it" because it was 8:15 there were cars in front of me. If there were no cars in front of me, then the chance of me "blowing it" are definitely high. But considering there was traffic, I highly doubt I blew it. Seems more like he really needed to give someone a ticket this morning.

Dunno about everyone else, but i sure as hell don't. The difference? I don't do it in front of cops.
Edit: and as others have said, I don't come to forums to try and get out of it. Last time I got a ticket was for 'failure to stop' when pulling out of In-n-Out onto an empty road without stopping. Alas, the road was empty EXCEPT for the cop =)

You still rolled it. STFU and pay the ticket.

Usually I'll brake and let my car roll back an inch or two then proceed. So, in reality, I generally stop twice at stop signs.

Actually it's legal now or I couldn't be driving it. I have a honda with an engine swap. The stuff they make you change is a joke thanks to Cali smog laws.

Would have been nice if I could have just been notified of what to change without the huge fine which when reduced came out to $541 with court fees.

Use a chain hooked to a truck and yank down the sign, take pictures of intersection without stop sign... voila!

Your response seems so out of character from your screen name. 😉

nobody is saying they stop all the way everytime. The fact is... when you're caught... you own up to it.

I hear stuff on the radio about ticketassassin.com though... take a look.

$200 for a rolling stop? Damn that seems exxcessive...

Could always lie and say someone was coming up behing you fast and you thought they'd hit you. Or you started to stop and realized you couldn't see who was coming so you moved up a bit so you could see and then decided to go...

GOod Luck. 🙂

Tell the judge you thought the ones with white boarder were optional.
I swear our drivers ed teacher said this... and he never negated it or played it off as a joke either... too funny.

The point of my posting this was to get advice from people who may have gotten out of this type of ticket, not for you Monday morning assholes to take out your whatever you have against the world on me.

Settle down, Beavis.

This is your only chance:

1) Go to your traffic court date
2) Plead innocent
3) Hope the judge is in a giving mood

Yes, I stop at stop signs. What a concept. 😛

More importantly, if I get a ticket, I STFU and accept it.

I speed up so fast that the cop barely see's my car going through the intersection and thinks it was just a bird or something.
