to watch maybe. it would be fun as hell if you were a good skater. I know in the girl's leagues, they are starting to have highly accomplished female speed skaters sign up and basically wrecking shop.

I used to be a big fan of RollerJam, a roller derby leaguein the late '90s. Unfortunately, the writers decided to write horrific plot lines similar to professional wrestling and the league died shortly thereafter.

Detroit has a few teams, it's a pretty big deal...a girl that I went to high school with skates and her brother is a ref. I considered joining as a ref, but I wrecked my ankle late summer and (probably not a good thing), it's still weak in some ways. The girls are fun to drink with, even if there aren't many that you'd like to go home with.
