I'm 18. I've only been on two roller coasters until yesterday. My god, I've been missing out!

Yesterday, my friends and I went to Marine World Six Flags Theme Park. I've only been on two roller coasters prior to that back when I was 12-13, and that was on the Boardwalk (dinky rides compared to what I went on). The very first ride I went on was Medusa, it look crazy (twists, turns, flips), and as the crazy ride goes up and you hear that clinking sound. I was scared out of my pants, because all I see is the clear blue sky and nothing else! The first drop is incredibley nauseating on my stomach, but after that its all FUN! I LOVE ROLLERCOASTERS! It was amazing! We went of Medusa twice before moving on to the other rides.

My next favorite ride was V2, Vertical Velocity. This takes you to like 0-60 in the blink of an eye. It sends you straight up, then you come backwards and go straight up backwards, then go back down. Like a parabola. If you like to go fast, go on this one.

Those were the two most memorable rides, I went on all the others, but they were nothing compared to V2 and Medusa. (Kong, Boomerang, Voodoo, Taz Devil, Dinosphere, Both of those Water ones)

What rides have you guys/gals been on?

I've been on Medusa, Batman and Robin, Great American Scream Machine (like 5 times in a row), Steel Force, Dominator, Great Bear, Comet, and a bunch of others that don't stand out in my mind. Medusa and Batman and Robin are tied for the best IMO, they both kick mucho ass. Batman and Robin is extremely fast, only bout a minute ride (it is a little longer to go on Robin than Batman) cause its flying the whole time, then does the entire thing backwards. Medusa is like 2 minutes of twists and turns, its awesome, just so many falls and its pretty fast as well.

You west coasters are missing out on some EXCELLENT roller coasters in Ohio. If you're ever out here in the summertime, add a day to your trip so you can visit Cedar Point. They've got lots of great coasters, but some of my favorites are:

Raptor: You sit in a seat, and your legs dangle. It takes you up, then drops you down a curved incline into sheer chaos. It barrel rolls at least twice, and it feels like being in a fighter jet. It's usually an extr 15-20 minutes to sit in the front row, but it's worth it.

Magnum: At one time the tallest coaster in the world, now it's a good "trainer" for Millinieum Force.

Mantis: You stand up on this one. On some of the loops, the force on your legs is incredible.

Millinium (sp) Force: Was the tallest coaster for like three months, till some park in japan beat them by ~11 feet. You cannot see the bottom of it until you're almost half way down. I almost blacked out on this one :). It's amazing how much of the park it covers, especially cause the ride doesn't seem that long.

Mean Streak: Great wooden coaster. Very fast and lots of "head chopper" moments

Two weeks ago was my first time on a real RC. I went to six flags over georgi and did 3 of them. One sucked cause it was an OLD wooden one and shook my skull apart but Ninja and Mind bender were damn fun!!

The hulk is my favorite rollercoaster I have ever been on. The dualing dragons at universal is fun but not as good as the hulk. I've also been on every ride at magic mountain and one of the six flags in texas, and The Hulk owns them all!

I live about 20 minutes from Kings Island in Cincinnati, OH and for some reason have not been there this or last year. The have the new Son of Beast that is a looping wooden coaster. My favorite is a newer one called Face-off. You sit in groups of 4 facing each other and it goes forward then backward through the track. We plan to take a weekend trip to Sandusky,OH so we can have a few days at Cedar Point.

I love riding them at night so much better too.

Ohhh...I remember hearing about that. I'd like to see that, if not for the ride, but to see just how they did that...

I used to have the current record at a Amusment park in FArmington utah,
they have a older white roller coaster that I manged to ride 35 times in 4 hours.

I don't know if I still hold the record or not. it's been years since I've been back.

I love RC.

I went on the Dueling Dragons at Universal Studios, but was too scared to go on the Hulk. Just looking at it makes me nausaus.

Canada's Wonderland in Toronto has some good rides. The Vortex and Top Gun are good roller coasters. And we also have the tallest free-fall drop tower.

Cedar Point, definitely #1 in the world. Magnum, Millenium Force, Mantis, Raptor, Mean Streak, Power Tower are all must-rides. Gemini is fun too.

Dueling Dragons and the Incredible Hulk at Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando are also 2 good coasters.

At Kings Island in Cincinnati, the Beast is a great wooden coaster, about a 4-5 minute ride through the trees. Son Of Beast is also wooden, goes really fast and ends up giving you a sore body afterwards. The loop is unexpected for a wooden coaster (the loop isn't wooden, the rest of the coaster is).

The Hulk was incredible!!

Uphill linear induction!!! Only time I have ever seen anything like that. Best part was that I was not expecting it at all as the park had just opened up and word of the rides were just getting out.. and that whole narration thing while going up the tube.. wow.

Plus.. the line for that ride was amazing! You did not mind waiting the hour because there was just so much stuff to look at!

Man.. I loved that park.. only place I actually wanted to wait in line..

I've ridden all the ones at Six Flags in Atlanta. All were pretty good, but no real standouts when compared to...

Kings Island. I haven't been there in a few years, but the Beast and the Vortex were great when I was a kid.

The best RC I've ridden recently is the one built into the New York, New York hotel in Las Vegas. It has a section of track where you loop upside down just like a regular loop, except that you stay upside down for a short while. And the first drop is incredible!!!

Yes, you are missing out on something. But if you think the rides at Marine World are scary, you need to go to Great America and ride: Stealth, Top Gun, Invertigo, Vertex and Demon.
Personally, I didn't like V2 since I used my Fast Pass and got stuck in the middle of the ride. It had no 'thrill factor' all you do is rock back and forth..

Yes, I must agree that Cedar Point has the best rides. I personally liked Millenium Force (1.5 hour wait to get the ticket, 1 hour wait to go on ride) and Raptor (is that the suspended coaster)? Demon Drop, Mantis and Power Tower are fun too :)

Has anyone been to Kings Island? That is probably my favorite park, the rides do compare to Cedar Point, but I think it's less crowded plus it's more of an Amusement park rather than not just a huge lot of land with a ton of coasters. My favorite rides at Kings Island consist of this one where it's an roller coaster inside a building, practically pitch black, and you get launched from 0 - 60 in the first 3 seconds of the ride. Beast and Son of the Beast are fun rides too.

The rides at Disneyland and Disney World are mediocre but aimed more towards kids. I still have to go to the Six Flags in LA or somewhere down there :) Can't wait to ride Superman, etc.

BTW, Six Flags Marine World stinks. They ruined Marine World (they took out all the good animal attractions), the dolphins are a joke, and they are VERY overpriced. $10 for a souvenier cup? I get the same sized cup at Great America for $3.99..

Yea, that indoor coaster at Kings Island is a great ride (I can't remember the name). But the wait was way too long (maybe cuz it's air conditioned and it was hot out).

However, I don't think Kings Island comes anywhere close to Cedar Point. CP is right on the Lake which is also nice, you can take your boat up there and dock it at the marina for the day.

Prince of Persia, in the other rides, you forgot ROAR (that wooden coaster). All rides at Marine World are pretty pathetic. Medusa and Kong are by far the best ones there and really, don't bother using a Fast Pass since I had to wait in line for them to fix rides a ton of times. I swear all the rides except Tazmanian Devil were broken down that one Friday I went. Kong was down for a good 45 minutes. I can't remember all the rides, but my two favorite non-thrill rides were that one that spins while it rocks you back in forth and Monkey Business (like the Tea-Cups at Disneyland).

See, I stay with relatives in Finley (sp) and my dad doesn't like boating or the ocean. Which is strange since he's president of a community pool, but anyways, I think that Kings Island is a better "family" experience. I stay with my relatives on my mom's side in Dayton when going to Kings Island though.

For roller coaster fun, you have to visit Cedar Point, but on a different note, one of the better rides I have been on is the Backwards Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion. It used to just be the Rebel Yell, which was a racing coaster, but to spice it up they took the train on one side a flipped it front-to-back. If you get in on that side you do the ride going backwards, which is a lot of fun.

Also, the Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg is fun, but only if you are in the very front seat. The coaster itself is really tame, but the first drop takes you through a section of track that simulates running through a town with all the twists and turns. Riding in the very front is fun as you get ever so close to the buildings before the track pulls you in another direction. Also the final drop is over water, and since it is a hanging coaster, in the front there is a period where you just seem to be hanging in mid-air over the water before you drop down, then turn away just before you hit the water.

Also at Busch Gardens is the Loch Ness monster. When they are timing things right and you get 2 coasters hitting the double loop at the same time, that is pretty cool.

The Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood is fun if you are into the speed angle (85mph top speed), but they replaced the side to side neck jarring of the Steel Phatom with a front and back neck jarring that seems to be even worse. That and the guaranteed 2 hour wait in line since there are only 4 coasters in the park....

The indoor RC is called Flight of Fear and it beats the hell out of the indoor one at CP.

If you ever get the chance to ride the Racer backwards, do it, it's a great rush.

Speaking of rush, I finally got to ride the Millennium a couple of weeks ago....WOW:D

The Raptor is my still my favorite though,it's the only RC to cause me to lose my disorientation.
