roku to replace my ps3

I really dont/haven't gamed on my ps3. Past 3 years i dont really use it much. But now i mainly use it to watch my movies via usb/microsd card. It gets loud and hot but really works well with the ps3 remote. Now i get these cinmix or w/e errors. So the audio goes out 20 minutes in.

Looking at roku's to replace it. Looks great for my needs. How is the video watching interface from a .mkv or .avi file? Remote works well?
 
forgot to ask, does the roku care if the SD/ USB is FAT32 or NTFS. PS3 only wants FAT32 and i have issues with the 4+ gb files.
