The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

Galvanized, isn't having a RoHS compliant PSU more important then another part?

RoHS is for the enviroment. Setting up tooling and stations/employees to deal with hotter soldering temps, plus different solder/flux, is going to cause some teething problems.

The finish of a good lead free solder joint looks frosted NOT wet and shiny like lead based solder. In other words...A good lead free joint looks like a dry lead based joint and a dry joint is a bad thing.

Some major problems have been caused by the wires coming out of caps being oxidized prior to being solder inplace w/o enough heat or flux. Sony CRTs suffered from this as well as some Dell/BenQ flat panels.

EDIT: What's better?...Doesn't matter. RoHS will be the most current production though.
