Rogue Spear Lan connection

Anyone know how to set up Rogue Spear to run in Lan configuration?
I can play via ip ok, but want to play against the computer next to me via network. Ages of Empires, MSFlight Sim, MW3 and others work with the lan, but RS won't. RS recognizes the other computer as server but won't successfully connect.
