Uhhh.... Yeah. Going to be awesome.

This is the Star Wars movie I have been most excited about seeing. Supposed to be much more "gritty" and "dirty" than previous SW films and the trailer looks to back that up.

Looking forward to it. It seems like most people don't know about this film though. There is not much hype that I've seen.
 
No Force or Lightsaber stuff but it somehow looks better than TFA. We'll see. I don't mind popcorn and Star Wars so I'll be seeing this.
 
This looks like a "Marvel'ized" version of a Star Wars universe. Not that it's a bad thing. Should make for a fun action movie with familiar sights (there's always room for more AT-AT's 😀)
 
So, it is a stand alone film in the Star Wars universe, without any crossover characters to the Star Wars saga that is supposed to take place just before A New Hope.

With this model there will never be an end. My great great grandkids will be watching Star Wars movies.
 
Not sold on the lead...but maybe she will impress me when the movie comes out. Looks fun regardless and of course I will watch it.

The Star Wars universe is likely going to be very diluted by the time Disney is done with it...but I can't fault them.
 
Watched it at work muted. Looks good, but please tell me that girl doesn't have a British accent. Killed TFA for me.

Rogue Squadron was an elite pilot group organized by Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles. There's overlap.

As a side note: between TFA, this and the Aftermath book anyone else notice they seem to be on a 'Female lead character' kick lately?

It's Felicity Jones, who is a Brit, so yes. And she is pretty damn hot. She was in the Stephen Hawking movie as his wife (though she is better looking than she was in that).

This is bugging me a bit. I don't care about the politics of it. Female leads are fine with me. But when it starts feeling force fed, the agenda ruins the immersion. I just wanna get lost in the story without thinking about things like that.

The trailer looks fantastic. I saw the original movie as a very young child at a drive in theater the summer of '77. This flick is a chance to revisit all of those old settings, gear, characters, uniforms, etc. without doing a remake of the original movie. And it looks like they freshened everything up without making any real changes - the fresh retro look is so much win. If the story is any good at all, they are gonna have 30-49 year olds begging them to take their money.

BTW - any news on the rumor of an Obi Wan stand alone movie with Ewan McGregor? That could be really interesting as well. He was one of the best things about the prequels. I'd heard that he was into the idea.

I have not heard anything more on the Obi-Won rumor.
That being said, I'd rather have that than a Han/Boba Fett movie.

Ugh. I dunno, maybe Rey just has an annoying voice, and the accent exacerbates it. Don't mind men with an English, Aussie, Scottish accent, but for some reason bothers me on most women.

Maybe it just reminds me of listening to me mum. Parents have aussie accents.

Yeah agreed, I think an Obi-Wan movie with McGregor would be way better than a Boba Fett movie. I feel odd in that I was never obsessed with Boba Fett (AND HOW COOL HE IS) like everyone else seems to be.
