Just curious if it is possible to split a cable internet connection and route one to tv and pick up some stations. I heard this was possible but i am not sure.

yeah its possible...but its also illegal, so if you have that setup and the cable company comes...your gonna have to disconnect it before they get there!

If you're not paying for cable tv, they should have put a filter on it to stop you from getting tv channels.

I only have one cable into my appartment; it's obviously split for cable and internet service (both of which I pay for).

You might as well plug it in and try; it's rogers' fault not yours if they didn't install the filter.

it's roger's fault for not installing a filter in the cable box. by adding a spliter within your house, you're not technically tampering with the cable box, but it's still illegal. :)

actually its not illegal.

I asked when I got Rogers Cable Internet in my old apt. He told me it was fine because with the filtre in place I would be able to get channels up to 10.

The channels are there because they are needed for the internet transmission.

So I had some channels and cable internet at one low price.

Thats all the channels you need since Simpsons and Family Guy are on channel 3. :)
