Hi- I'm getting ready to ditch my Soundblaster PCI128 and wanted to know if anyone has experience with Roger Wilco (and Counterstrike) using any of the non-Creative Labs boards on the market. My card will not work with R.W. and C.S., even though it passes the R.W. tests. I also cannot get any help with good drivers from Creative . . .

I'm looking at Phillips, Turtle Beach, and Hercules, but at this point don't have any preference.

I don't want to start another Soundcard debate, but would appreciate any input regarding experience with Roger Wilco.

If it matters, I have a PIII-800 + Abit BH6 Rev 1.0 and other stuff . . .

Thanks!

I should also add that I don't need any fancy DVD sound capability since I have a nice "regular" home theater. I do listen to music, streaming broadcasts, and play games.

Thanks.

go with the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card if you don't need any major stereo outputs or anything like that, if you need those go with the hercules game theater.

i don't think it matters at all with the current crop of sound cards. i'm using a vortex2, and with battlecom, my friends tell me my voice is between a cellphone and a normal phone. just take your pick.

If you have a HT that supports DTS, get the GTXP. AFAIK, it's the only one that supports DTS passthrough.
