I like how his first next serve was a fault. I know that happens, but it makes you wonder how much that shot broke his concentration...

LOL an "over the hill Federer" still wipes the floor with his first round opponents.

Didn't it hit the ground again? I don't know rules in Tennis but it looked to have bounced twice

Sampras was a monster in his prime. He gave Fed a run in this exhibition game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-1qYRqf4DA

Sampras got bold fairly quick at his age! 10 years difference. Pete use to be the best at the running forehand and had good precession base lining both forehand and backhand. It was missing in this game.

The nice thing about the shot is that it's directional.

Federer has obviously practiced such shot A LOT of times in training.

Most good pros can hit between the legs. Not a big deal. But directing it is more potluck/low percentage in nature.....And if you pull it off, you look like stud.

Practicing that shot 100 times a day, i bet you could get like that... when your whole life revolves around one thing, you pretty much play that 4-5 hours a day, with the rest of your day spent stretching, and working out.

Not really. Only a very few have that kind of talent. There are sports camps in Russia where they take kids and drill them constantly on their shots to try to produce Tennis players. The vast majority of the kids fail.
