8 SATA ports? I wonder if those are all native?

Man, that VRM sure looks it can take 8C16T Ryzen and push it well up to whatever it can do! Overengineered boards are awesome. I wonder if ASUS will do a Sabertooth AM4 board at some point.

Although I feel like it's missing some USB ports... /s

yea i know 8x usb 3.1 gen 1 4x usb 2.0 2x usb 3.1 gen 2 + 2x more usb 3.1 gen 2 via header and 2x more usb 3.0 via header and 4x more usb 2.0 via header is way too little. That's only 14 useable ports + 8 more but only if your case supports all that realistically the case will support 2x 3.0 and 2x 2.0 that's only 18 useable ports not even 20 like the previous guy said pfffft

Pardon my ignorance but what the hell are you going to do with 20 USB ports?

Is it possible to be in love with a mobo? :D

I like the design. It has nice design flourishes without being (too) ostentatious. I'm trying to decide between this and the ASRock X370 Fatal1ty Professional Gaming, but I'll likely go with the Crosshair for the extra ports and 3D printing mounts. I'm assuming the 4 extra power phases on the ASRock board wouldn't make a big difference in terms of stability or overclocking headroom, but honestly I don't know all that much about power phases.

Inferior ones maybe, HTC Vive takes ONE USB 3.0 and uses either HDMI or Displayport for Video.

Well, potentially 3 USB ports total if you keep your controllers connected to your PC when not using them for charging. But that's optional, as they come with their own chargers, and I use a hub for mine (like to keep the controllers resting on top of my case for easy access). They really only need to be connected occasionally for firmware updates.
