Is a F-18 Hornet pretty much like the Wright Brother's plane because they are based on the same physics? Is a 10 megaton thermonecular bomb the same as a firecracker because they both blow up?
You just scratch the surface of something and conclude that it's "bascially the same". The whole point is what you can do with it, not how you do so. Typing commands into a prompt does not characterize Linux any more than using pedals and a wheel characterizes a F-1 race car.
