ROFL! I joined SA last night...

1) Read the rules.
2) The reason that everyone on SA follows the rules and generally doesn't post crap is because it costs $10 to get banned.

Posting is a privilege, and like most forums you are encouraged to LURK before you post. There are rules written on each forum specifically stating what stuff will get you banned. SA does a pretty good job moderating their forums.

ROFL! Don't worry, probation there is more common then rain in Seattle.

Also, never post: shens, pics?, or cliffs.. LowTax will chew you out.

Did you even read what I posted? You're paying for the privilege to post. That doesn't mean you can post whatever you want and act like an idiot. Part of the agreement is that you abide by the forum rules or you will get banned. Simple enough.

Placeholders are stupid as hell, lil noobie. User loses posting privileges for 3 days.

Except that's not the way the service is set up. You pay to join, not to post.

Just because I pay UPS to ship a package doesn't mean I can borrow thier trucks or do anything I want.

Look up the word "should" in the dictionary, then get back to me.

This is childs play compared to SA.

So you're saying that because you paid for a service, you should be able to break forum tables, troll, and just generally act like an idiot? So I guess by your same logic, people that buy guns should be able to just shoot whoever the hell they want because hey they paid for the gun!

Go read these threads and tell me that anything posted on AT is as funny or as interesting as any of them.

I think that the one thing SA has on ATOT is creativity. Some of the threads that they have are hilarious. Not to say there aren't creative people on ATOT, but generally I see posts that are more funny there. They also happen to have a larger community. ATOT is still king for hardware analysis and technical topic discussion IMO.

No, I'm not. Way to blow things about of proportion.
Granted, I didn't make myself explicit, but stupid rules should not exist.

As far as I know, their main forum GBS (General Bull******) is still open for non-members to browse and read threads on. So you can start off there, it's funny though.. they have another forum called FYAD (take a guess) that's strictly for worthless nef posts and crap, it's pretty elaborate actually but very active. Bottom line is their members are devoted, intelligent, and contribute heavily to the threads there. They also have things like a link checker for reposts, no language filter, and their mods do a good job keeping things clean.

Ok. Stupid rules should NOT exist, but most of the rules that they have are legitimate. Catchphrases for instance. Banning them is a way to keep things fresh, so the content doesn't get stale. There are a ton of ATOT catchphrases I see that really just piss me off when I see them because EVERYBODY uses them.
