Of all the NES emulators I have seen, RockNESX is the best for my purposes. The problem is: when I start emulation, other computers on the network start having trouble with ICS (as I am the host).
its a strange problem... when I start emulation, the other computers are only able to access the site they are currently on. for example, if another computer is browsing the anandtech forums, and i start up the emulator, they are still able to look around on the forums. but if they try to open a new site, like "www.google.com" they instantly get a "server not found" message.
the emulator seems to use quite a bit of cpu power, but I can run nonstop cpu benchmarks and the other computers can always still use the internet. At first I thought it may be a USB issue, but there is nothing wrong with the throughput while playing the emulator, it just seems to have trouble with dns lookups
for full system info see "my rig", but here is the basic stuff;
USR/3com 56k voice faxmodem pro usb
3com 3c905b nic
epox 8kha+
athlon xp 1700+
256 crucial pc2100 ddr
any ideas?
