Rockband Question

So I've got the cash for one system. I'd like to get the Wii so I can play with my daughter and wife but would prefer an Xbox or PS3.

Rockband is the sticking point. If I won't lose anything playing Rockband on the Wii compared to the other systems then I'd be happy.

Anyone played this on multiple platforms?
 
Rock Band 1 is the same as the PS2 version on the Wii. Its missing a lot of stuff, and no download content.

Rock Band 2 is more like the 360/PS3 version and it will have download content. No clue how good it will work with the SD card, etc... The Wii is pretty limited on what it can do with the SD card. I'm not sure but if Rock Band 2 is like other games it will not be able to load saves from the SD card. You will probably have to copy downloaded tracks back and forth to the Wii's internal memory if you want to play them. Nintendo is supposed to release a firmware upgrade to address the SD card storage, but from what I've read it want be available until sometime in 2009.

You can play tracks straight from the SD card for Rock Band 2.

MTV's Patrick Klepek allowed readers to submit questions for him to ask Harmonix about Rock Band 2, and luckily for us, people were curious about the details of the Wii version. Klepek got real, concrete answers about DLC -- and less concrete answers about instrument compatibility.

First, the good news: like its competitor, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Rock Band 2 allows players to run songs directly from an SD card. No need to scour the fridge! This contradicts what we'd heard previously, but we don't mind because it's awesome.

i would definitely wait for RB2 on Wii. With each subsequent version, the instrument quality gets better as well.
 
You'll have to wait for RB2, and to see how well they implement it. I love the wii, but at this point, I'd lean toward xbox/ps3. I'm waiting myself to see how the next GH pans on on the wii... I really just want that portion. I'll leave RB to friends who have the space to play it =)
