Rockband guitar on Guitar Hero III

So does the controller for Rockband work on GH III? Ive read a few places that say it doesn't, but a few of my friends insist it does. I don't understand why it wouldn't, but trying to figure it out before I go buy the whole bundle (game and guitar).


Anyone try this before?

For 360:
Rock Band guitar works on Rock Band only.
Guitar Hero guitar works on both Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

For PS3:
Rock Band guitar works on Rock Band only.
Guitar Hero guitar works on Guitar Hero only.

No, I haven't used it.

I have a wired Rock Band guitar and it definitely does not work with GH on my 360. My GH guitar works on both.
