Rockband 1/2 & GHWT - unlock all songs? codes i have found online are not working

w/ all the deals around lately for rb1/2 and ghwt, i have picked up the games, a couple of guitars and a mic on the cheap. i don't want to play the game and do the tours, just play the songs - any of them (plus the wife doesn't have patience w/ all the tour bs either).

i have tried the code that i find on the "cheat/code" sites that supposedly unlocks all the songs, but the songs don't show up in the quickplay area - any idea why?

fwiw, i don't have a drum kit because it is myself, my wife and possibly a friend that plays the game and none of us like being the drummer, plus space was an issue as well.

please help me out w/ a code to unlock all the songs

The codes on www.gamefaqs.com work as I've used them all. Maybe you are doing something wrong- I know I was when I started but forget what.

if gamefaqs doesn't work then you aren't entering them properly

In RB2 you can play through the challenges pretty quickly to unlock all the songs.

I had this problem... in addition to unlocking the cheat, you also have to turn it on. Scroll through the cheat menu to the one you unlocked, and look at what options it gives you.

thanks, got rb2 ok last night - i didn't realize you had to turn it on. i will look at rb1 and gh later to see if that is my issue - didn't turn the cheat on. i assumed it was a cheat that worked for that particular "on time" of the game and once you removed it, the cheat died and you had to enter it every time. my bad

After I turned the cheat on (let's say I chose to unlock all the songs) and play some, can I then turn it back off (or remove it) and continue my tour/career mode again from what it was before and also to get achievements?

in rb2, there is a checkbox next to it that you can toggle, so assuming it will go back to normal once unchecked.
