Rock band is touring their game in my area tomorrow (DeKalb, IL NIU campus). Saw a RB van driving around and did some research and found you could play today and tomorrow. Might go give it a try if I can convince others to go with me.

Anyone seen or played at this "tour"?

The nearest it comes to me is NYC, which is 5 hours away, so I won't be going. If it was going to Syracuse I would totally try to go, but I'm pretty sure it isn't.

Anyway, you should go and tell us how it is!

I haven't played it. Only thing I have heard is that for guitar shredding, guitar hero is better but I'm getting both so whatever.

Where'd you hear that? It makes sense in that the RB playlist is going to naturally need to have more karaoke-friendly songs than some of the heavier GH tracks. I'm getting both as well, I was just wondering who said what.

Well, considering that you are singing and drumming, there will probably be songs that don't focus on guitar as much but vocals and/or drumming. I think there was something on it at joystiq.

Edit: From here: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/823/823187p1.html

"Rock Band is designed to ensure that all four band members have a good time. That may be a bit rough on budding guitar gods - you won't find any Yngwie Malmstein or Steve Vai on the announced track list (though who knows what will happen with downloadable tracks). Songs that focus on the lead guitar and make the other parts take a back seat just don't jive with the concept of a full band. That doesn't mean the guitar parts are boring though; the tracks we've played have some riffs that are a lot of fun to tear into. Take, for example, Orange Crush by R.E.M. which you can see for the first time in the embedded video. The new approach also doesn't mean that the guitar solo is dead. "

I so can't wait for this game man. I hope the downloadable content isn't ridiculously priced though.
