That is an amazing concept.
The flexible mesh tube is as important to the movement as is the memory metal (SMA). I have used similar flexible mesh tube at home (but just for cables), and it is funny material. If you put your finger in one side, and then stretch the mesh tube by pulling the other side, your finger will get caught and stuck in it. That mesh tube spreads out the mechanical force because of the way the individual wires are braided and joined together. Smart that they used the abilities of the flexible mesh tube by using sma.
Since i have both somewhere in my small home repository, it will be fun to play with. 🙂
