At 1300, I think its comparable to getting a real dog.

At $1300 it's more expensive than many pure-bred dogs from reputable breeders. You can't hug a robot.
That said, in the long run it would be cheaper since you don't have to buy food or veterinary service, and if you want to go on vacation for 2 weeks, just shut the bastard down.
