how long did it take ya?

I was a fan of macross. Well, i saw robotech first (only couple eps)..that's how i got introduced to it, then i saw macross on vids. I hear the episodes are kinda out of order in the US robotech version?

macross != robotech

the story was modified for robotech. robotech is a mix of 3 series, macross, mospeada, southern cross.

Several years later I believe Jetfire was replace by a model known as "Skyfire", which was very similar but more boxy (the nose cone was squared off, the leg units lost all curves).

I believe the story is that Jetfire/Skyfire was at one point a decepticon that was "converted" to an autobot somehow.

yeah, jetfire was a decepticon and he was a old friend of starscream. i think he was a scientist or something, dunno, too lazy to look thru the comics to check. :)

Bingo. Jetfire was never in the cartoons however - he was in the comics though.

He was in the cartoons (very few episodes) except that he was called "Skyfire".

I have a similar one a cousin gave to me years ago

In the box with all the parts I saw one go for aroung $260 on e-bay. I have one setting on my bookshelf but I don't have any of the armor or weapons.

I remember the episode they found Jetfire. He was buried under a bunch of ice.
