This guys has had chance after chance to make himself clean of drugs, and he keeps blowing it. He won a major award for Ally McBeal... and was probably poised to make some bigger bucks in the future, and what does he do... GETS BUSTED AGAIN!! And gets fired from the show. What a bonehead. I can give him being busted once, maybe even twice, but this is at LEAST the third time.

Full blown alcoholic/drug addict who is out of control. There are those unfortunate few who are uncapable of staying sober.

Every time I see his name on the news, I expect it to be about his dying of an overdose or being murdered by a crack dealer.

I think he'd better invest in some butt corks, because he's going to be somebody's girlfriend in prison pretty soon.

He is an IDIOT .. thats all I can say... Its as if he want to get caught or something... Maybe instead of going to a detox program he should go see a councellor or a psychologist/psychiatrist/head doctor/shrink/etc...

With the resources he has, why can't he keep it indoors. This is more than an addiction.

How is he dumb? He's an addict who needs help. And he does need major help, but he is not dumb. I saw him on an episode of Ally once (the only one I've ever watched). I don't know of a better actor on television right now. Too bad he was fired. Now, if he could only get cleaned up...

I think he's a great actor and has really contributed to Ally. Maybe he will get help. I hope so anyway. :)

He's had so many chances to get help... what's the deal. I mean... being in prison for a year effectively got him to stop cold turkey. Why'd he go back to doing drugs? He clearly has a void in his life he's chosing to fill with drugs. Ugh... let's hope he get's help this time.

Addiction is tough. I've dealt with enough addicts to know that it is not easy to stay off drugs no matter how much you want to, especially if you're in an environment where drugs are prevalent (and I'm sure Hollywood is such). .. . .

He has an addictive personality and has not come to terms with it. Until he does, don't expect anything different from him. His acting ability has nothing to do with it. If you cannot show up to do your job, there is always someone in line that will...

Okay.. I take it back.. he is not an idiot.. cause even at his lowest he'll still have more money/friends/fame/women/etc... that I will ever have in my whole entire life... but COME ON ... If you've been caught twice already.. you'd think you'd learn to take precautions...

I'm sure these is a saying for somehting like that...anybody know one?
I think I'll start a thread.. :)

<< Robert Downey Jr.... Dumb or What? >>

should that even be asked? that guy is thee best example of an addicted fool. Given so many chances he still screws it up. I feel sad for him and pissed. He deserves any and all sentence he receives.

He's far from dumb. He IS one of the most talented actors alive, in my opinion, but he has a problem. He's addicted to drugs. You can just throw a guy in jail and have him quit cold turkey because as soon as he's out, with the resources and money he has, he'll get right back to it. You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. I don't think he really wants to be helped yet. I think he's just getting into these rehab things because he keeps getting caught and he does it for publicity. I think he's trying, but is having a hard time with it. It's really sad, though, because he's so talented and that's why he's been getting the chances he's been getting. The industry is forgiving him time after time because they see his talent.

[edit] I agree with Red Dawn [/edit]

<< What he needs is a court appointed Mentor and his money to be put into a trust fund which the Mentor and all expenses for his rehab would be paid out of. >>

Leftwing will have field day with that, claiming violation of multitude of individual rights. Ironically there would be more noise than if he gets thrown in jail!]
