Just got back from what very well might have been the loudest concert I've been to, ever.
Rob was amazing, well worth sitting through the laughable, lame attempts at music put forth by "Sinistar" and "The Damned" -- ugh.
To commemorate his "homecoming" (it's been 7 years since he played in LA last) he played songs from the entire Zombie timeline, all the way back to Thunderkiss '65 and More Human than Human. Of course he played his new stuff like Never Gonna Stop Me and House of 1000 Corpses (the latter was played in front of a backdrop of clips from the upcoming movie which looked AWESOME). Of course there were plenty of pyrotechnics on a really huge, Satanic set. The best part were the mega-props such as the four 9-foot skeletal creatures that meandered onstage during More Human, or the 12-foot mechanical robot demon that rolled around during one of the other songs.
The pit was surprisingly quiet though. Some crowd surfing, very very little moshing. I was fortunate enough to be in the front of the Loge section so I got a good view of everything.
Anyway I'm rambling and I'm going to have a REALLY sore throat tomorrow from all the screaming, so g'nite!
