Roaming Profiles

Does anybody know anything about how to get NT 4 (SP6) to automatically delete cached copies of roaming profiles? I'm using policies to try to do this (I've check the "Delete cached copies of roaming profiles" box under default computer, but roaming profiles are still being stored in %systemroot%\Profiles on all of the client machines. This eats up a lot of disk space over time, and it's annoying to have to manually delete profiles. Does anybody know of a better solution? Thanks for any help.

why not put the home directories on a server and mount that. then the space is only on the server and auditing it is rather easy then
