Roaming profiles and Temp Internet Files

Gepost

I have users with roaming profiles and access to the Internet at one computer. I would like for the temporary Internet files to stay at that one computer or their own computer. In other words, I don't want the temp Internet files on the network. Is there a setting I can change to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe I found the answer. Under Internet properties, I can change the location on my temporary files folder. Will I need to do this for each individual person and can I just put it on the hard drive of the Internet computer?

I've never tried moving the Temp folder on any roaming users here. I just lowered the folder size. We've got a proxy anyway so IMO it's redundant.

If you have IE 5 or better you can change the location of the temporary internet files by way of the internet control panel. If your users are using win2k, temporary internet files are kept in the "local settings" folder, which is excluded by default from being copied to the server for roaming. Here's a case study about excluding folders for roaming profile users.
