It seems that no matter what car I ride in, whether driving or simply along for the ride, after about 2 hours my tailbone starts killing me, and I spend the rest of the trip squirming in the seat. If I didn't have to do much driving, this wouldn't bother me. last year, however, I moved from St. Louis down to NW Arkansas for a new job, so I have a 4.5-5 hour road trip ahead of me any time I want to go back home. I walk in the door, mom asks me how the trip was, and the reply is always the same: painful! any suggestions?

Get a dough nut to sit on! You know one of those inflatable ones.
Maybe some of those seat beads might be more to your liking.

It could be your seat position.

Are you tall? Then you're likely not using your thighs as the main support area. Like your knees are pointing up and your ass is doing the work. Try to stretch your legs out as far as they can go.

If not, I have no idea. I went through the same problem when I was driving truck. The seat had to be very high off the floor so my thighs would actually touch the seat.
