RoadRunner & MAC Addresses

When I first signed up with RoadRunner two years ago, I initially ran two NIC's on my file server and used Sygate for my internal network. I have since upgraded to a LinkSys Cable Router and done away with the two NIC setup. I recently had to deal with their Tech Support and they showed the MAC addresses for both my original Internet NIC and the Cable Router on file.

My question is, can I utilize the original Internet NIC and set up a server outside my firewall, thus having two IP's or would RoadRunner catch it and deny me access?

I just wondering if I plug my NIC back into the cable modem, will I have internet access even though it's not the current MAC address?

Actually I'm doing a White Paper on Net Rage in the Forums. All kidding aside, I'm just trying to figure out if I can get the server to work outside the firewall. If not, I'll pay for another IP.

I don't know about where you are, but here in Charlotte, if I have one device pull an IP from them, then have another pull an IP the connection to the first is lost. They only allow us one IP at a time here.

I'm in California. I can get mulitiple IP's for a reduced cost but what I'm interested in is if I can swap out my two devices that already have the MAC addresses on file and not have to contact the cable company.
ie: If my hardware router goes down, can I convert back to the two NIC's in one computer and still access the web since the NIC I would use would have been the original MAC address registered with RoadRunner.
