Ok, here's the thing, I can either sign up for Roadrunner and pay monthly and cancel my Earthlink. Or I can upgrade my comp to the latest specs.

So what would you do?

I know this is a no brainer, but I want to see what everyone else thinks. :D

That depends on how much you use the net and how old your rig is.I've got clients using P200 mhz systems with cable modem and they are pretty happy,of course they aren't into high powered gaming.

Broadband any day. I'd rather have a P166 with cable modem then a P3 1ghz with 56k. Once you get broadband you'll never go back.

Definitely broadband it's infinitely faster and doesn't tie up your phone line.

Cable all the way unless you have DSL through Earthlink now. Is cable really that much more than your true cost of dialup? I know with phone charges and an extra e-mail I was getting near $30 a month on dialup.

Why would you want to upgrade a Duron at 850MHz with a Geforce2? There aren't really any games that it can't handle with ease.

Obviously Broadband. I downloaded Counter-strike 1.3 at 380KB/s in about 1 minute 30 seconds.

I voted for broadband, NOT roadrunner! If there is another choice, go with another provider. Their customer service is crap! They are also part of AOL. For all those that hate MS, can you hate this monopoly any less?

Just my $.02

Enjoy though, broadband is the stuff!

There's about two choices I have for a broadband connection...

Verizon DSL or TimeWarners RoadRunner...

Hmmm, I'm leaning towards RoadRunner....

I love my roadrunner

I dont even get put on hold for even 2 min..~

they're service has been flawless in Northern NJ... although their tech support don't know crap.

if you are having problems... they'll try and type as much info into their pc.. and help ya out..

hehe Talk about Effort~>.

They are A-Ok in my book~ :)

also I get about 250kb down and 40kbup.. so i'm not complaining~~

Another vote for broadband. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather have my old Celery 300A @ 464 w/128Megs and have my cable connection, than a 2GHz P4 w/512Megs and have a 56k connection.
