Road trip

In June the woman and I are driving out to a town about 40 minutes outside of Baltimore for a wedding. DC just happens to be about 40 minutes away as well. We have 1 day we can use for sight seeing and I'm not sure where to take her. Now, I've been all over the area (hell I grew up on the east coast), but she has never been out northeast. So where should I take her? Should we spend the day in DC, Baltimore, elsewhere?

One of the possibilities I've considered. Also thinking about trying to get a tour in the Whitehouse and meet up with my aunt at the Capitol (she's a congresswoman or at least was, been a while since I looked it up).
