I'm trying to figure out this road trip i'm planning.

so lets say if i'm driving from vegas to san francisco, it claims to be a 10 hour drive. is there some exciting place inbetween I could stop in for the night and spend the night? something that's cool?

thanks!

You could stop at a rest stop and sleep in your car...but that's not very cool/exciting 😀

You can't just make it during the day?

I guess you could detour to San Diego, but that would make it longer, but no, there are no exciting or fun places between SF and LV in the most direct route.

well i could, but it'd be nice to stop someplace for the night.

can't really sleep in the car, two of us and its a small car (and i'm not going to get cozy with the person!)

I do ten hour non stops 4 or 5 times a year. With Screaming kids and all 🙂

If you're an inexperienced driver or if you're going by yourself (no one to wake you up)

I don't reccomend it.

Well if you plan on taking the backroads, you could stop by Mt. Whitney (tallest peak continental U.S)
Or Yosemite NP.

Dude, it's definitly dooable in one day 😛 I drove from Panama City FL to San Antonio in 14 hours (5:30am - 7:30pm), so you can definitly do that.

Seriously. Are you a total wuss? It's only a 10 hour drive. You might want somewhere to stop off and stretch at the 5 hour mark, but come on, splitting it into 2 parts is just....*sniff*sniff* is that your vagina I smell?

this is sad. guys, honestly, i'd totally do the 10 hour thing in one sitting, its the easiest thing in the world. however since its not just me and i'm not some selfish fu*k face like some of you seem to be, i want to make the trip comfortable rather than some dash to the finish. i'm trying to make it a relaxing breakaway, have some stuff to do on the way rather than stare at a monotonous highway for 10 hours.
thanks for the suggestions to the more mature of you guys who've probably got a little bit more sense of family and consideration for others in a vehicle on road trips...

Go by way of LA, and visit some of the sights there.. Otherwise, there's not much to see in Fresno, Bakersfield, nor Modesto. Or go the Yosemite or other national/state park route. Have fun! 🙂
