I need vacation but have nobody to go with. :(
Roomate #1 is gone to SoCal in July. Roomate #2 have parents and his kid over for 2 months (parents for 1) so I need some time off from the house.

I'm playing with the idea of taking a road trip from VA down to Key West and possibly see some stuff on the way down. I am fairly new to the east coast so I don't really know what's worthwhile to check out between VA and FL.

Is going alone going to 5uck balls? Is it a bad idea in general?

Input is appreciated. :D

Vacation alone? Sounds pretty boring. You dont have any friends that can go with you?

See original post. My network of friends is limited here in VA. I'm not in school (being 35 y/o).

maybe you should go to another country and backpack around, that would be better alone.

I could postpone to August to get someone to join me.

Hmm... how about taking a trip to where your old friends are and visiting them? I'm not sure how introverted of a person you are but most vacations are pretty boring just by yourself.

I'd love to go to Tucson again later in fall, maybe Sept/Oct.

How about a camping trip to the mountains? THat could be a fun thing to do by yourself. Do some mountain biking, kayaking, just chilllin'.

Florida Keys aren't terribly interesting to begin with. And the drive down there might be pretty dull. It's a place wherre cruise ships from Miami dock in the morning and then leave by midday.

Why don't you go to New York City instead? It's probably closer, and it's an easier place to get by on your own.

Or perhaps Boston or Philadelphia if you have already been to New York city.

by the time you spend money on gas and stuff maybe you should just think about going to the Caribbean? (that is if your looking for something tropical)

I've always thought of going here

Tons of options, all inclusive, camping, do a little searching so many destinations and various price ranges)....

Kinda depends on what you are looking for and how much your wanting to spend
