Road trip from Montreal, QC to Los Angeles, CA

I'm planning on going on a road trip with a friend and 2 as-yet-undetermined girls either this summer or next summer, from here to LA. What are some good destinations to visit along the way? What are good routes to take? Neither of us wants to stick to the interstate. There could possibly be 5 people but I think that'd be too crowded so 4 seems to be a reasonable max. I've heard some stories of route 50 or 66 in Nevada where you can hit speeds of 150mph for long stretches of time... that could be fun

That will definetly be a lot of fun. Make sure the girls are hot
Just get a few maps and cruise around on the back roads, stopping at wherever you want to......look around in guide books for cool places to stop. 150 is fast.....what kind of car do you have?

redundancy = good on long trips. 2 cars my friend. or else being stranded in the desert...thats not kewl. just get walkies.
