G35 coupe is just that, a COUPE. what are you, a moron? The G35 sedan is... guess what, a SEDAN.

The 350Z doesn't even have rear seats!!!

Fine, you don't liek the Impala analogy? Let me list some other bloated "American" cars: the Monte Carlo, all the SUVs, the Crown Vic, the 500, the 300C, the Mustang, the LS, the Town Car, the Grand Marquis, the Sable, the Taurus, the Marauder, etc.

Face it, Americans like big, floaty cars.

not 4000 pounds big.

this is a flop, like the 3000GT.
No, 3500lbs big, just like the Eclipse.[/quote]

Does anyone actually know anything about a 3000GT?

I own one and the curb weight is 3300. This is for the 2wd non-turbo version. 222HP and with the five speed it actually is a lot of fun.

It that's not enough you could get an AWD 3800 lb version with 320HP.

I don't really consider a solid car that sold for 8 years to be that big of a flop. Not everyone wants to drive a light car if it means you get a cheap interior with no leather.

Oh, btw my 95 has 145,000 miles with no problems other than a clutch change at 140,000.

Yeah, real unreliable piece of crap, right?

you do know that ANY car taken care of properly can last forever. its those that last a long time w/o the complete care that the others require.

Mitsu is going going...not gunna live. the 3000GT was a decent car, but was d/cd because it couldnt compete. the Eclipse is not going to sell well.

i dont get what you mean by a "light" car that doesnt have leather, cars can have leather and be light...

although i must say, interior looks great (especially lights on display). i dont like the front end too much, though its by no means repuslive. although this wouldn't be my #1 choice, it'd be on the list!

I don't care how great the Eclipse performance numbers are...I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole because of FUGLY the car is.
The designers of this car must have been on a weeklong crack sniffing binge when they designed this car.

The car has no define shape at all...it has the fugliest butt ever and the front end is almost equally fugly.
I haven't seen a car this fugly since the Aztec and the Aztec has an excuse since its somewhat a niche vehicle.
The car is so fugly that I think the SRT-4 is better looking and I never ever considered a SRT-4 either.

Laugh all you want, but they're still more reliable than Fords and Chevys. And way better put together.

The Cobalt SS is not only slower than the new Eclipse, but at the end of the day, it's still a renamed Cavalier.

Very seriously doubt that. And it's a totally new vehicle, not a Cavalier.

Viper GTS

We'll see. It's too new to tell, but we all know that Chevy killed the Cavalier name and replaced it with Cobalt because of the Cavalier's crappy reputation and reliability.

a buddy of mine use to havea Cavalier in HS...he got pulled over by a cop...the cop asks him: "what is this an '84 model"...my buddy said: "naw its a '94". The cop replies "are you serious? no way its not a '94". HAHAHAHA Chevys

That's some funny sh!t.

ugh, still can't get used to that new style. Looks like something Pontiac would conjure up.

its amazing how they ruined the looks of a great car. Back in 98 i think it was that rounded styling was great. The new generation seems to have down syndrome.

wow, fwd with so much power and torque, wtf are people thinking in these days.....aren't they afraid of torque steering?

besides, laws of physics has proven that fwd sucks, especially when the new eclipse is such a heavy motherf*cker.

i'd rather drive a civic/integra(aka rsx) if it has to be fwd.

and i'd take a 4G63 in an eclipse over any v6 eclipse anyday. 2nd gen eclipse gst/gsx is the first car i've fell in love with (eversince i got into cars).
