Looks like Road Rash fans have something to be excited about. Currently available as Early Access from Humble Bundle

Though a $34 price tag is plenty to deter skeptics. I may grab this though, as I was a massive road rash fan back in University. Online play should be awesome, and I guess there are procedurally generated levels (WHICH MAKES SENSE in a racing game built around hitting each other with baseball bats. Just about the only scenario that procedural generation does, imo). Looking forward to seeing more.

Ahhh.. Road Rash, it has been far too long. I'll be keeping waych for the price to drop.

I still have Road Rash 95 installed on all my WinXP VM's & Road Rash on the Mega Drive (Genesis) was also a great game.

I got this during Kickstarter @ the $30 Beta Access tier. At the time you could have got the finished game for just $15.

I grabbed this the other day, and played with my wife for about an hour. This game is simply amazing.

Rather, it will be simply amazing.

Right now, it's still very much an alpha. It's fun though. The alpha allows for split screen multiplayer, but it takes you through the 9 pre-made levels just to give you a taste of what gameplay will be like. There is no story or custom race mode or anything like that. As well, the framerate and framepacing were not good, even with low settings. I expect that stuff will be fixed.

There are a few different game modes in the alpha:

1 - Race: get 1st or 2nd to progress, straightforward
2 - Takedown: take down x number of other racers before time expires
3 - Car-nado: Car's literally fall from the sky in front of you, and you have to weave and dodge to avoid them while clubbing your buddies with pipes. Get to the end to proceed.
4 - "Car's Hate You": Cars on the road swerve to take you out.

$25 gets you the alpha access and the final game right now. The final version will definitely be worth $25 imo. It is supposed to have online play too, which will be fun I'm sure.
