Road Rage

On the drive home from work today some asshole had extreme road rage and was cutting me off, slamming on breaks, and at a stop light got out of his vehicle and started yelling at me to get out of mine which of course I did not do.

I don't want to escalate ever, my mindset is that the other terd has nothing to lose and I do so I just stay out of it. Who knows what had this guy going, bad day at work, anything could be putting him on edge.

That said, I feel completely unfulfilled from doing nothing. I took a bunch of flack and couldn't do anything because I didn't want to start anything. All I have now is his license plate number. Is there anything I can do with it? Is there any way for me to exact revenge from this motherfucker? Or is it one of those things where I have to let it go and find a punching bag?

EDIT: For those wanting full story...
1st: This is in BOSTON. I'm not sure where you guys drive, but few places have as psycho drivers as Boston.
2nd: It is after work. When angry businessmen and lawyers overly stressed and looking to pick fights are driving home.

I am merging onto two lane 50mph freeway type deal. There are no cars in left lane, one vehicle (this guys) in right lane. He is absolutely zooming by. I keep going to merge but notice him speeding and slow to a near halt to allow him to pass me and I will just merge after him. He slows down in order to beep at me and flip me off as he passes by. I go into right lane and continue driving. I am going 40mph. He slows down, gets right next to my car, and my window and his were down. He yells, "HEY GUY." I hear a popping noise and after feeling a spray of fluid realize I have been spat at by him. Then he cuts in front of me and starts slamming on breaks and stuff. All the while I am not fucking with him because I don't want him to hit me, throw something at my car, anything. I never escalate stuff while driving. Ever.

You should have written down his license plate number and called the police on your cell phone while he was watching.

Looks like he may have just used some bath salts and was maybe looking for a face to eat? Sounds like he kept his clothes on though, so maybe not...

how about we start to treat people with respect in all forms of communication?

People get away with trolling online so they are emboldened by this behavior until they meet reality like the OP and that other guy who keeps getting slapped...

A friend had this happen (not me) and with the license plate number, he contacted Motor Vehicle to get the dudes name and address (again, not me). Using his wife’s vehicle (in case the guy remembered his vehicle) drove over very late one evening and vandalized this dude’s car. I can't remember exactly what he scratched on both sides of his car and hood, but it wasn't pleasant (again, not me). Since this wasn't me, I can say I don't condone violence or vandalism.

What state? Couldn't do that in SC.

What did you do to piss him off?

We never get the whole story.....he did it for no reason....yeah sure..

stop changing lanes without looking and or a signal.....stop driving 50 in the passing lane,I can go on and on but am sure you did nothing to escalate the situation....:whiste:

I have come across more than a few drivers that should be pulled from their cars and beaten to the point they can no longer drive but I have self control.....for now.....

Well done. You avoided a potentially deadly situation. We're proud of you.

regardless of what sparked it, cell phone video and make sure he knows he's on camera.

That would be assault anyway. Better to just take their keys and throw them as far as you can. Preferably into a large body of water.

Should have filmed the incident and called the police right there and then. Why ask now?

Can always file a report with the police or RMV but doubt anything will happen now.

bump with full story for people who can't believe I didn't do anything to instigate this. Try driving in Boston some time and you will realize that trouble finds you, you don't find trouble when driving.

shens.

if you spit out a window while driving 40mph the spit will immediately go backwards. no way it would go between 2 cars next to eachother, across the passenger seat, and hit the other driver. you probably wouldn't hear someone make a spitting noise either at that speed with the wind from driving.

definitely not getting the full story plus getting some bullshit fed to us.

Damn, sounds like you missed out on a perfectly good opportunity to get in a good scrap with someone. What a shame, you don't get too many of those as a responsibile adult.

The spitting thing doesnt make sense though, as said earlier, I don't see how it would go from one car to inside the other at 40mph.
