RMVB Video to MP3 audio, possible?

i have a mtv video file that i like very much, and i'd like to convert the audio part into mp3 so i can access it on my mp3 player or similar device
is this doable? the video is in rmvb

Transcode it to an .avi and run it through VirtualDub. I'm pretty sure theres a setting under audio, and a selection for the compression.
