rMBP UI on Mountain Lion GM

I installed mountain lion gm on my rMBP (2.7ghz) and the UI is still far from smooth. It can't compare to my previous early-2011 MBP running Lion (10.7.4.). Is there any way to improve rMBP's UI performance? I want it to be smooth and to feel natural when I scroll.

If you read Anand's review of the rMBP, he said that there is some performance hit in the rMBP but he did say that it got a little better in Mountain Lion. So when you say smooth and natural scroll is it in a browser or is it in everything?

Reminds me of the 1st iteration of most Mac products. Slow or crippled in some way.

I wonder how poorly the 13" MPB:TNG will do when it comes out. I guess the good news with the 13" is that the resolution will be much lower.

I haven't been experiencing UI issues at all. Safari scrolling is occasionally choppy, though. Facebook was an excellent example from Anand of a site that shows the drop in frame rate.

Which resolution mode are you running? I have it at '1680x1050' scaled.

anandtech review of the new macbook points out that the hardware is much to weak for the resolution so i wouldnt expect it to ever be smooth.

the problem is that I think it's software as opposed to hardware.

When I tried the computer to run at 2880x1800, its native resolution, everything's perfectly smooth.

when I run it at the scaled 1400x900 resolution, it's much choppier. I think it's all the upscaling and then the down scaling involved.
